Menopause - How to minimise your symptoms

Over 2 million women enter menopause each year, impacting half the population, yet it's only recently gaining more attention in mainstream conversations.

Today, we’re here to share our Founder Nici’s experience and highlight why our choices at this stage of life are so important to our mind, body and soul.
We've also put together an exclusive bundle - just for you, read on to find out more.

Menopause Symptoms

We’re all familiar with menopause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, low libido, weight gain, and fatigue. But what’s really happening with our hormones during this stage?

As oestrogen and progesterone levels decline, the body undergoes significant changes, leading to these common symptoms. Factors like genetics, lifestyle, and stress can exacerbate these hormonal shifts.

However, there’s another important factor that can significantly impact menopause: endocrine disruptors.

What Are Endocrine Disruptors?

Chemicals found in many everyday products, including plastics, cosmetics, pesticides, and even some foods. Endocrine disruptors mimic or interfere with the body’s natural hormones, particularly oestrogen, which is already in flux during menopause.

During menopause, when the body is already struggling to maintain hormonal balance, exposure to endocrine disruptors can make symptoms worse. For instance, they can intensify hot flashes, exacerbate mood swings, and contribute to weight gain by further destabilising hormone levels. These chemicals can also interfere with thyroid function, which is crucial for metabolism and energy levels, potentially leading to increased fatigue and difficulty maintaining a healthy weight.

Endocrine disruptors can also prolong menopausal symptoms by continuously interfering with the body’s attempts to stabilise hormone levels. For example, these chemicals can mimic oestrogen, leading the body to think it has more oestrogen than it actually does. This can confuse the hormonal feedback loop, making it harder for the body to regulate itself and potentially prolonging symptoms like night sweats, vaginal dryness, and irritability.

Moreover, these disruptors are linked to long-term health risks that become more pressing during menopause. As oestrogen levels drop, women become more vulnerable to conditions like osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. Endocrine disruptors can exacerbate these risks by further weakening bone density or contributing to heart issues.

Given these risks, it’s important to minimise exposure to endocrine disruptors, especially during menopause. This can involve choosing natural or organic personal care products, reducing the use of plastic containers, opting for organic foods, and being mindful of household cleaning products. By taking steps to avoid these harmful chemicals, we can help protect our hormonal balance and overall health during this critical stage of life.

How To Minimise Symptoms!

At 52 years young, Nici is no stranger to the challenges of menopause. As we shared last week, Nici’s commitment to a healthy, holistic lifestyle goes beyond the surface—it's her top priority.

This week, we’ve asked Nici to share her favourite tips and products that have helped manage menopause symptoms naturally. Whether it’s about boosting energy, balancing hormones, or maintaining overall well-being, Nici’s insights are sure to inspire.
As well as following my healthy morning routine, I have also added the following into my daily ritual and I can honestly say that I am managing my menopause naturally and effectively!

First up is making sure you take exceptionally high-quality supplements, like my Astaxanthin capsules. I also take Ella Sera - A hormone-balancing supplement for women, brimming with five of the best, most powerful, proven ingredients to champion healthy hormones. They are made in the UK. Vegan-friendly, Cruelty-free, GMO-free. No nasty chemicals or fad formulas!

Next on my list is being part of communities that uplift, inspire, and share valuable knowledge. One of my absolute favourites is Hack My Age, founded by the amazing Zora Benhamou. It's a treasure trove of information and support. I highly recommend taking the quiz and joining the Biohacking Private community—it's been a game-changer for me! It was great to catch up with Zora at the Health Summit a few weeks ago.

Lastly, reducing exposure to endocrine disruptors is crucial. A simple way to begin is by swapping out toxin-laden cosmetics for natural alternatives, like those from my brand, Nibu Naturals

To support your journey, I’ve created the exclusive Menopause Harmony Collection.

This exclusive bundle is valued at £100, but it’s yours for just £75!

This special bundle includes the powerful Astaxanthin supplements, the luxurious Glow to Sleep Serum, a hydrating Hand & Nail Balm, and the Nibu Natural Nourishing Body Oil—all designed to keep your skin and body in harmony during menopause with NO nasty ingredients just all-natural goodness!
