How to Use Nibu Glow Moisturiser as a Makeup Base

Nibu Glow Moisturiser isn't only the final step in your skincare routine. Its soft, radiant finish also makes it a beautiful base beneath makeup.

Available in Glow Natural and Glow Darker, the moisturiser helps leave skin feeling soft and moisturised while adding a subtle warmth and healthy-looking glow to the complexion.

Whether you're wearing a full face of makeup or simply want fresh, radiant-looking skin, here's how to make Nibu Glow Moisturiser part of your routine.

Quick Guide

Cleanse → Glow Serum if desired → Glow Moisturiser → Makeup if desired → Luna finishing touches

You don't need to use every step every day. The idea is to create a routine that suits your skin, your style and the finish you want.

Step 1: Start With Clean Skin

A smooth makeup base starts with clean, comfortable skin. Begin by cleansing your face to remove excess oil, impurities and any residue from your previous skincare.

If you're using the Nibu Facial Cleanser, gently massage it over your skin using circular movements before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry rather than rubbing.

There's no need to leave your skin feeling squeaky clean. The aim is simply to create a fresh, comfortable canvas for the products that follow.

Step 2: Add Your Glow Serum, If You Use One

If a Nibu Glow Serum is already part of your routine, apply it before your moisturiser. Allow it a moment to settle into your skin before moving on to the next step.

This step is completely optional. You don't need to use both the serum and moisturiser to create a beautiful makeup base.

Step 3: Choose Your Glow Moisturiser

Nibu Glow Moisturiser is available in two shades:

Glow Natural
Choose Glow Natural if you prefer a more subtle, natural-looking warmth and radiance.

Glow Darker
Choose Glow Darker if you prefer a warmer, more sun-kissed finish.

Both are designed to blend beautifully into the skin while providing the moisturising benefits of your daily skincare. They aren't intended to behave like traditional foundation or provide heavy coverage. Instead, think of them as moisturisers that leave the complexion looking naturally radiant.

Please note: Glow Moisturiser is available in Natural and Darker only. Glow Deeper is available within the Nibu serum range.

Step 4: Apply Your Glow Moisturiser

Apply your chosen Glow Moisturiser evenly across your face and gently blend it into the skin. You don't need to apply it to damp skin. Take a little extra care around your hairline, jaw and neck so the finish looks soft and seamless. Allow the moisturiser a moment to settle before applying makeup.

Nibu Tip
You don't need a heavy layer to create a beautiful glow. Start with the amount your skin needs for comfortable moisturisation. You can always build your overall look with makeup or Luna afterwards.

Step 5: Wear It Alone or Apply Your Makeup

Once your Glow Moisturiser has settled, you can decide how much more you want to add. You might choose:

  • A light skin tint for an easy everyday look.
  • Concealer only where you'd like a little extra coverage.
  • Foundation for a more polished finish.
  • Or no base makeup at all.

On some days, you might want your complete makeup routine. On others, your Glow Moisturiser may give you exactly the fresh, healthy-looking finish you're looking for.

Step 6: Add Luna for Extra Radiance

If you'd like to highlight particular areas or add a little more colour, finish your look with the Nibu Luna Collection.

Luna can be used on areas such as cheekbones, brow bones, cupid's bow, lips and anywhere you'd like a little extra luminosity.

Choose from:

English Rose — for a rosy touch of colour.
Golden Delight — for warm, golden luminosity.
Bronze Chic — for a richer bronze finish.

You can also mix and match your Luna shades to create a finish that feels completely your own.

A Little Goes a Long Way

English Rose and Bronze Chic are highly pigmented, so start small. When applying either shade to your cheeks, begin with one drop divided between both cheeks. Blend it first, then decide whether you'd like more. It's much easier to build the colour gradually than to begin with too much.

Three Easy Ways to Wear Your Glow Moisturiser

The Look How to Create It
Fresh Everyday Glow Glow Moisturiser worn on its own
Natural Polished Look Glow Moisturiser + concealer or light makeup
Radiant Finish Glow Moisturiser + makeup + Luna

Your routine doesn't need to be complicated. Start with the finish you want and build from there.

Why Does Nibu Glow Moisturiser Have Its Distinctive Colour?

At the heart of Nibu skincare is one very special ingredient: astaxanthin.

Astaxanthin is a naturally occurring carotenoid produced by the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis. It has a distinctive red-orange colour and powerful antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help protect against oxidative stress caused by free radicals, which is one reason astaxanthin has attracted considerable scientific interest in relation to skin health and visible skin ageing.

Astaxanthin is also where the Nibu story began. Long before Nibu expanded into supplements and the wider world of women's healthy ageing, we began by exploring how astaxanthin could be incorporated into beautiful, everyday skincare. That inside-and-out approach remains an important part of Nibu today.

What If My Makeup Pills Over My Moisturiser?

Pilling is when skincare or makeup begins to form little rolls or flakes on the surface of your skin. If this happens, try a few simple adjustments.

  • Use a little less - very heavy layers of skincare can sometimes make subsequent products more difficult to apply.
  • Give each layer time to settle - if you're using a serum underneath your moisturiser, allow it to settle before applying the next product, and do the same before applying your makeup.
  • Press rather than repeatedly rub - repeatedly rubbing over several layers can sometimes encourage products to ball up.
  • Look at your complete routine - sometimes pilling happens because particular skincare and makeup formulas don't layer well together rather than because there is anything wrong with either individual product.

Experiment with the amount you use and how you layer your products until you find the combination that works best for your skin.

A Note About Astaxanthin and Sun Protection

Astaxanthin is an antioxidant that has been researched for its relationship with skin health and the skin's response to oxidative stress, including stress associated with UV exposure. However, Nibu skincare and supplements are not sunscreens and should not be considered a replacement for appropriate sun protection.

Your Glow, Your Way

There isn't one correct way to wear Nibu Glow. Some mornings you may enjoy your complete skincare and makeup routine. Some days you might want Glow Moisturiser with a little Luna. And sometimes you simply want your skin to look like your skin, only a little more radiant.

Choose Natural or Darker. Add your makeup if you want it. Add Luna when you fancy a little more luminosity. Then make the look your own.

Because the best beauty routine is one that feels good on your skin and fits naturally into your life.
